Ride2Work Day - October 15, 2014
Do you want to ride to work, but are too scared to face the traffic? Confused by the potential routes, and don’t know the best one to take? Or do you regularly ride to work, and just want an excuse to celebrate?
National Ride2Work Day is your chance to face your fears or honour your commute! The event takes place during National Safe Work Australia Month, on Wednesday 15 October.
What is Ride2Work Day?
An event to celebrate commuting on your bike. It encourages people who have never ridden to work (or who do so infrequently) to give it a go. It also encourages frequent riders to keep it up, and encourage their workmates to get involved.
How do I get involved?
Visit the R2W Pedal Power page on The Grid for information on how to register for this year’s Ride2Work Day.
Why participate in Ride2Work Day?
Because you'll be joining the largest national ride to work of its kind! We also hope it inspires you to make the choice to swap the car, train or tram for a bicycle more often! Over 50,000 people across the country are expected to ride to their workplace on October 15th, and each AGL location is gearing up to participate.
So what's in it for me?
- Exercise
- Saving money on your regular transport costs
- A funky t-shirt to wear for the ride in
- The opportunity to receive a FREE AGL branded bicycle helmet. Each site will have a certain number of helmets for the first riders to register, so get in quick
- A free breakfast upon arriving at your site's end destination (for the breakfast meeting point in your location see the chart below)
- The right to wear casual clothes for the day

Not a confident rider?
No need to worry! Ride2Work day is all about encouraging you to give cycling a try.
Pedal Power will be supporting riders by organising meet-ups at designated locations to allow cyclists to ride in together along the safest route. To meet with your closest coordinator, please email them directly for a location and time:
